If you have found injured wildlife, please do not touch it! Call 802.355.1590

Because we don’t know if an animal is carrying rabies or another disease, it is critical you do not touch injured wildlife you may find.

If you are not able to get in touch with Medora on the phone, please follow these preliminary instructions until she is able to get back to you:

  • The primary goal is always to reunite wild babies with their parents. Until we’ve established the animal is truly an orphan, please do not move it or interact with it

  • If you are certain the animal is orphaned, ie. mother is hit by car or you otherwise have confirmed parent is dead, move the animal to a warm, safe, and dry location using a barrier device such as gloves, towel, or sweatshirt

  • Do not feed the animal anything by mouth, including water

  • Wait for a return call or text for further instructions
